How do I create branded links in Google Sheets?

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Rebrandly has a Google Sheets add-on to shorten links within a Google spreadsheet.

This add-on works best when importing fewer than 1,000 links. For longer lists, we recommend exporting your sheet to a CSV file and using the bulk upload method, which is faster for high-volume link creation.

Requirements:

  • A branded domain in a Rebrandly workspace.

  • An API key from your settings.

  • Available links in your account based on your subscription plan limits. Check your limits by clicking Usage in the top navigation bar.

To create branded links in Google Sheets:

  1. Go to the Rebrandly listing in the Google Workspace Marketplace.

  2. Click Install and follow Google's confirmation steps.

  3. When the installation is complete, create a new empty Google Sheet.

Do not open a document with your links in it. All data will be deleted and overwritten.

  4. Click Extensions in the menu bar.

  5. Click Rebrandly.

  6. Click Make this a Rebrandly Bulk Links sheet.

  7. Click Yes to confirm the sheet is empty.

  8. You'll see that new fields will be added to the spreadsheet, and a menu panel will open on the right.

  9. Paste a Rebrandly API key into the first field. You can generate an API key in your Rebrandly account settings. For more details, see How do I create a Rebrandly API key?

  10. In the menu panel, click Sync API key with sheet. This will retrieve your workspaces and domains from Rebrandly.

  11. In the panel, select the workspace where you want to create your links.

  12. Select the domain you would like to use for your branded links.

  13. Paste the URLs to be shortened in the Destinations LInks column. These can include UTM parameters. This information is required. If https is left out, we'll assume the http protocol.

  14. To customize the back half of each branded link, enter the unique back half for each link in the Slashtag column. You can leave this blank for Rebrandly to generate a unique random string for you.

  15. To help identify your links in Rebrandly, you can also add titles to them. This is also optional.

  16. Select the rows of links you would like to shorten and click Rebrand selected rows.

  17. The branded links will appear in the Shortened column. If there are problems with any of them, an error will appear in red in the next column.

You can now copy and share your links!
