Starting on January 30, 2025, Rebrandly deployed a new logic for handling subscription downgrades. This comprehensive guide walks you through every aspect of the downgrade process, helping you understand what to expect and how to manage your resources afterward.
When you downgrade your subscription, the system automatically aligns your features and volumes to match your new plan's limitations. This affects several key areas of your account:
Workspaces
Domains
Links
Advanced link features
Impact on specific features
Workspaces
Excess workspaces will be locked if they exceed your new plan's limits.
You can still view links and teammates in locked workspaces.
Workspace details will be locked but remain visible in read-only mode.
An upgrade is required to unlock additional workspaces.
Links
Links become locked if their parent workspace or custom domain is locked.
Locked links continue to:
Redirect properly.
Track analytics (cannot be viewed without upgrade).
Display real-time updates.Locked links cannot be modified.
Locked workspaces cannot be used to create new links.
Previously configured features remain visible in read-only mode.
Upgrade is required to unlock additional links.
Domains
Excess domains will be locked if they exceed your new plan's limits.
Links cannot be created using locked domains.
All actions in the domain detail section will be locked.
Existing domain configurations remain visible in read-only mode.
Upgrade is required to unlock additional domains.
Advanced Features
The following features will also be affected by entitlement restrictions. If your chosen plan does not include these features, they will be locked:
Link Level Features:
Traffic routing.
Retargeting scripts.
Deep links.
Domain Level Features:
Main redirection landing page.
Custom 404 page.
When these features are locked:
Existing configurations remain visible in read-only mode and will continue redirecting but cannot be modified.
Features stop functioning on affected links/domains.
Non-owners can notify workspace owners about upgrade requirements.
Free Plan transitions
When downgrading to the Free plan:
Your account remains active.
No fees are charged.
Features and volumes are limited to Free plan allowances.
Existing links continue to work and track analytics (but you won’t be shown unless unlocked).
