How can I monitor, prevent, and fix broken links?

Broken links—the dreaded 404 errors—happen every day. Branded links are no exception and can break at two levels: the branded link and the destination page. Rebrandly has a couple of tools you can use to catch and fix links so that you don't lose web traffic to errors.

Set up backup landing pages

To direct someone to a specific landing page when there's a problem with the branded link itself, see: How do I set up a landing page for my custom domain?

Check the broken links list

When the destination URL of a branded link is broken, we'll record that in your domain settings. From there, you can view how many clicks the link has received in the last 30 days, and edit the link to correct the destination.

To view broken destination URLs

  1. Click Domains.

  2. Click Manage.

  3. Scroll down and click Manage broken links. You can also export the list to share with your website developer by clicking Export CSV.

  4. From the list, you can edit or archive a link.
