How do I get a custom domain?

Updated over a month ago

To brand your links, you'll add a custom domain to workspaces in Rebrandly.

It's highly recommended that you have a unique short domain that's only used for your branded links. Branded links are more likely to increase your CTR with no impact on your existing domains and website. You have two options for this:

  • Buy an external domain from a third-party registrar, like GoDaddy or name.com, or transfer an existing custom short domain from another provider, like Bitly. This requires manual steps for DNS settings, so it helps if you have technical knowledge. Billing and management are handled directly through the registrar.

  • Buy a domain directly through Rebrandly. We’ll handle your billing and technical connections automatically as a reseller. You can manage the domain entirely within Rebrandly.

When you click New domain in Rebrandly, you'll see two options. The first is to purchase a domain through Rebrandly. The second is for the other options to add or transfer your own domain.

While not recommended, there are ways of using your existing website domain to shorten links. These are less performative and reliable methods, but they are available if you have the technical resources to set them up and maintain them.
