Does California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA)
apply to Rebrandly?
The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) is a bill intended to enhance privacy rights and consumer protection for residents of California, United States. CCPA came into effect from January 1, 2020.
The CCPA applies to any business, including any for-profit entity that collects consumers' personal data, which does business in California, and satisfies at least one of the following thresholds:
- Has annual gross revenues in excess of $25 million;
- Buys or sells the personal information of 100,000 or more consumers or households;
- Earns more than half of its annual revenue from selling consumers' personal information.
Though Rebrandly is not under the jurisdiction of CCPA, we do support any best practices about privacy protection. Rebrandly is in-fact a European company under EU laws. The privacy rules for the data we manage both as a data controller and a data processor are under the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation).
