Understanding Domain Name Registration
When you purchase or renew a domain name through Rebrandly, you're essentially entering a yearly agreement with a third-party domain registrar and registry (the TLD provider). Unfortunately, due to the nature of this contract, these purchases and renewals are final and cannot be refunded.
Rebrandly's Role and Refunds
Rebrandly acts as a facilitator for domain name purchases, earning a small margin (or sometimes none) for each sale. Since we don't directly handle the registration process, we're unable to offer refunds on domain names.
Alternatives and Flexibility
While refunds aren't possible, there are other options to consider:
-
Domain Use: If you no longer plan to use the domain name for creating branded links with Rebrandly, you have the flexibility to transfer (move) it to a different registrar. This allows you to use the domain for website hosting or other purposes. See this article for further details: Transferring a Domain Purchased from Rebrandly.
-
Important Note: If you pre-paid for your domain renewal and received a Rebrandly notification about an upcoming renewal, you may be able to cancel it before it's processed by our domain provider. To cancel your renewal, please contact our support team immediately. Our agents will verify if you're still eligible for a renewal domain cancellation and refund as an exception.
Finding the Right Domain
To avoid any concerns in the future, we recommend carefully considering your domain name needs before purchase. If you have any questions about domain names or their uses, feel free to reach out to our support team for assistance. You'll find a comprehensive explanation in paragraphs 6 and 7 of the T&C.
