If you remove a teammate from the list, what happens to any links they have created?
- If you remove a teammate from your workspace, the following will happen to the links they created:
- The links will stay active and can still be accessed by other teammates and the workspace owner, even after the teammate who created them is removed.
- The teammate will no longer be able to view, edit, or delete the links they created.
- You'll maintain complete control over their links - you can access, modify, or remove them as needed. If someone else needs to manage these links, you can add them as a new teammate with administrator permissions in the workspace. - If you do not need to retain access to the links created by the teammate, you can simply remove them from your Rebrandly account. To do this,
- Go to the Links page and select the links you want to remove.
- Click on the Delete button.
-
Important note: once you have deleted a link, it cannot be recovered.
How does Rebrandly's teammate logic work?
- Account owners can invite teammates to join their Workspaces, granting them access and permissions based on assigned roles. These invited teammates can manage links and configure workspace settings according to the permissions granted by the account owner.
- Rebrandly offers sophisticated team management capabilities, providing granular control over user permissions and access levels.
- The number of teammates is plan-dependent, with a fixed seat limit. Once the maximum number of seats is reached, no additional teammates can be invited without upgrading or removing teammates to adjust to the limit.
- Administrators should periodically review their team permissions. This periodic review allows you to optimize resources and maintain a high level of security by avoiding unwanted access. Expand your subscription to add more users, or strategically remove teammates who no longer need system access or have left the company.
Important: On December 19th, 2024, Rebrandly transitioned from an "active teammates" model to a "seats" model. Previously, only those who actively accessed the platform during a billing cycle were counted towards the plan's limit. Now, the system follows a seat-based approach, meaning each invited teammate occupies a seat regardless of their activity level. An administrator can easily manage teammates' seat count by uninviting or removing access for teammates who no longer need access or upgrading.
Can I change the ownership of a Workspace from one teammate to another?
Unfortunately, Rebrandly doesn’t support direct ownership transfer of Workspaces. This is because permissions are managed at the Workspace level rather than for individual links. Even after removing the original owner, you cannot reassign the Workspace to someone else.
You have two alternative options:
- Grant Administrator Access You can give another teammate administrator privileges for the Workspace. This provides them complete control over existing links and the ability to create new ones, though they won’t be the official owner.
- Export and Recreate: You can export and import all links under a new account. However, this approach has significant drawbacks - you’ll lose all historical data and workspace-based features, including:
- Usage statistics
- Tags
- Notes
- Deep linking settings
- Traffic routing configurations
What is the difference between a Standard and an Extended Workspace?
- Standard Workspaces are suitable for most users and offer basic link management features. They allow for link creation, customization, shortening, and management.
-
Extended Workspaces are designed for users with exceptionally high link creation needs or specific performance requirements. They offer:
- Increased link capacity: Millions or even billions of links can be created.
- Higher API rate limits: Ideal for real-time link generation (e.g., SMS campaigns).
- Improved performance: Optimized for large-scale link management.
-
Key Differences.
-
Standard Workspace:
- Suitable for: Most users
- Features: Link creation, customization, shortening, management
- Access: Dashboard and API
- Reports: Dashboard
- API rate: 10 calls/sec by default
-
Standard Workspace:
-
-
Extended Workspace:
- Suitable for: High-volume link creation, real-time campaigns
- Features: Bulk link creation, increased API rate
- Access: API only
- Reports: Custom reports
- API rate: 25 calls/sec by default, customizable
-
Extended Workspace:
-
Use Cases for Extended Workspaces:
- High-Volume Link Creation: Ideal for projects requiring a large number of links quickly.
- Real-Time Campaigns: Perfect for campaigns like SMS where instant link generation is needed.
